Food trucks are very popular in SD. Every week there’s a gathering called Tasty Truck Tuesdays with 6 or so different ones. This time we tried Groggy’s which features New Jersey style “fat sandwiches” that combine meats with mozzarella sticks and fries inside a soft hoagie roll. B got the Fat Ron Burgundy and K got the Fat Beach. We also got a cookie with a Twix baked inside. Tasty! (we tried to make up for it by walking about a mile there)
our roommate met an untimely end - actually he was like this when we found him. thankfully, we never saw his pals.

The weather in Mexico verses the weather on our first day back - we had thunder storms that night which is extremely uncommon here. We get rain, sure, but almost never thunder.
We flew to Mexico City on the way back, then to Tijuana where we got a ride to the border and walked across. These statues are right at outside the checkpoint.
Kas is a very refreshing Mexican soda; sort of like Squirt. We visited the beach at Las Villas Carrizalillo and a boy, maybe 10 years old, waited on us. An even younger girl had the next section over.

the view from lunch at a restaurant along the beach- fishermen and dolphin watching boats etc all parked on the beach. guys would lay down logs and they’d drag the boats up or crash them skillfully.
